Handcolored engraving from the pocket atlas Caert Thresoor by Pieter van der Keere ( 1598). It shows how the sea and shores of Nova Zembla as well as the main land got Dutch names like: Nieu Hollant, Staten Eylant, Nieu West Vrieslant, Nieu Walcheren etc.
